(UPDATED) QUOTE OF THE DAY: Uncle Toni

If it's me, I'm (flying) to Mallorca.

- A concerned Toni Nadal after watching Rafa go down to Lleyton Hewitt 6-4, 6-3 during their exo at Hurlingham Club in London

Uh-oh. If Uncle Toni is spewing this shite, there is definitely cause for worry. There's still no confirmation on whether he will be healthy enough to defend beginning next week.

Stay tuned!

UPDATE: According to his website, Rafa will hold a press conference after his match against Stanislas Wawrinka to announce his plans.

  1. Ooh, i thought he was supposed to play Stanislas. Looked like he worked up a sweat in his wimbly duds and still couldn't win. Wish him the best...

  4. Oh for gawds sake this is getting on my nerves now. If you are not fit, pull out man. If you are fit, stop with all the statements and press conferences from your camp.

  5. Sad. Wimby just won't be the same...

  6. I really hope that his knee will be better, but I'm afraid that he won't be able to defend his title :( Wimbledon will be much less fun.

  8. Agh this blows ass. If Rafa doesn't play I will cheer for Muzz & Nole.

Get healthy, Rafa! Tennis needs you! :)

  9. I think he'll go for it. And I wouldn't be surprised if his hard-court season is seriously shortened.

If he can't bend his knees low enough, he can't touch me. Just saying.

Lot of folks have dismissed me as a clay court wonder. Watch out for me on the grass of Wimbledon.

  12. Sesil Karatancheva, now playing for Borat land, Kazakhstan (previously played for Bulgaria) has qualified to play in the main draw at Wimbledon.

She is coming back from a 2 year drug suspension.

  13. Wimbly draw is out! Murray in Rafa's half. So if rafa can't play i think we can almost see murray in the final.

Interestingly, Tommy Haas is in the same section as Nole who he beat in the Halle final while Soderling in in Fed's quarter of the draw...

  14. What happens when Nadal pulls out? I assume Fed gets seeded as 1 but does he take over nadal's draw and whose draw does the lucky loser get?

  15. Wwwwaaaahhhhh I'm so scared... If Rafa can't defend his title, Wimbledon will SUCK. It's just not the same without him. :((((

And MAN I would so be sorry about not seeing that semi-transparent shirt clinging to his muscly body!! o_O

  16. As sad & bummed as I am, I'm trying to remind myself that the most important thing is Rafa's health. I have no doubt that he will come back strong! He's such a fighter. Vamos Rafa, we will miss your hot champion ass at Wimby (assuming you don't play. but consider sticking around and hanging out - it will make my withdrawal symptoms slightly easier to take, lol).
