VIDEO VAULT: Superhero Serena battles Amelie for Barack's balls

In between lounging at the pool and sleeping during my Thanksgiving vacation in Florida, I stumbled upon Serena Williams' no-so-bad guest spot on a recent MadTV episode.

ReRe stars as tennis superhero Black Racket who gets an emergency call from US President-elect Barack Obama during a practice session with sidekick Ping Pong. Obama's "balls" have been stolen by a Russian tennista (Sveta maybe?) and he puts her on the case.

I'm thinking Black Racquet's outfit is definitely from ReRe's personal wardrobe - the cape gives it away. And pay special attention to the special appearance by Amelie Mauresmo and her power thighs.

  1. They put this Russian tennis player in one of Masha's dresses lol! How subtle, Serena lmao

  2. I understand the Sharapova snide reference, since they obviously don't get along, but why be bitchy with such a nice player as Mauresmo? That was unnecesary. And Serena should look at herself in the mirror at least once in her life.

  3. Anon this was a Parody and besides, Mad TV were the ones behind it.

P.S. "Amelie Mauresmo" looked way more like sveta.

  4. Racist and unfunny parody.

  5. A parody doesn't have to be insulting or aggressive, it has to be funny, and this one is not. Besides, Serena agreed to do it, she wasn't forced to.

  6. This is disgusting. Serena should be ashamed

  7. I have to say, I came here expecting the worst - and had to lower my standards. What was the motivation behind such an unprovoked attack on one of sport's most decent human beings? Amélie has never done anything to warrant this kind of abuse from her fellow players; this kind of cheap shot is disgraceful and if Serena had any concept of integrity she would be thoroughly ashamed of herself. Sadly, I don't hold out too much hope for that.

Humor is no excuse, because what little humor there was to begin with vanished the moment the people behind this vid - including Serena - started demeaning other people. If Serena was ok with making a fool of herself on MadTV, that's fine. Making a fool of yourself without hurting anyone else isn't a bad thing: it can be a sign of being secure about yourself, of humility and maturity and a sense of humor. If, however, you feel the need to belittle someone else in the process...

I have no doubt that this stunt will win Serena points with her fans and with a certain section of her US audience. For the rest of the world, though, it's an embarrassment and yet another indication of Serena's utter lack of couth.

There's only one person who's shown in a bad light here, and she's neither Russian nor French.

  8. I totally agree with Sapph.

  9. Many of us in the States are fully aware of Serena's lack of class. She's always been arrogant and annoying. Nothing new to me!
